Pastor Robert Fergusson has been part of the team at Hillsong Church for more than 30 years. He is passionate about sharing practical life principles from the Bible, and his ministry focuses primarily on pastoral oversight as well as preaching and teaching. Robert is married to Amanda, and together they have three married children and seven grandchildren.
This Sunday, Pastor Robert will be delivering a two-part sermon series titled “Jesus… And.” Part 1 will focus on “Jesus,” followed by Part 2, “And…”.
1. God could have accomplished his purposes in any way he wanted. Yet he consistently chooses to work through ordinary, flawed human beings. Why do you think he works that way?
2. What is one area of your life where you have been holding back from being used by God because you felt unqualified, too flawed, or just too ordinary? What would it look like to offer that area to him?
3. We are witnesses, not the main event. We point to Jesus, not to ourselves. In your everyday life at work, in school, or in your neighbourhood, what does it practically look like for you to “cross the room” to help someone?
1. God needed a mediator because there was no one righteous enough to stand between God and us, so God became that person himself in Jesus. What difference does it actually make to your daily life that you have direct access to God through Jesus?
2. We are witnesses, not the main event. We point to Jesus, not to ourselves. In your everyday life at work, in school, or in your neighbourhood, what does it practically look like for you to point people toward Jesus?
3. Throughout the Bible, God used unlikely candidates for his purposes. What is one area of your life where you have been holding back from being used by God because you felt unqualified, too flawed, or just too ordinary? What would it look like to offer that area to him?
