A new year is a great time to review and re-order our priorities. In this series, we explore how we can have a fruitful year by applying biblical wisdom to important areas of our lives.
Don’t just make some arbitrary new year resolutions, however good they may be. First of all, determine what ought to be first of all in your life, because that will set the course for the entire year. In this message, we will look at how the Bible helps us to understand what should be pre-eminent in our life if we want to have the best year ever.
1. How have you compartmentalised your life into things that you yield to God and things that are under your own control? What is one area in which you need to submit to his supremacy?
2. What is a “deal” you have expressly or unconsciously made with God? What does it reveal about your heart and the benefit that you want to receive from God?
3. What do you have now that, if taken away, would rob you of your joy? How has God been teaching you to make him your ultimate satisfaction?

1. How committed are you to doing a good job and adding value in your work? How can you continue to grow in competency?
2. How highly do you think your employer and colleagues would rate you in terms of being “trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent”? What is your fundamental motivation for being a person of integrity?
3. What are you tempted to compromise for the sake of your work? How can you be a better testimony for Christ at work in this new year?
