About This Series
How We Do Church

God calls us not to individual but corporate salvation, not to just a personal relationship with him, but also to community with fellow believers. We will never experience the full measure of his goodness or grow to our full potential, unless we understand and participate in the Body of Christ. In this series, we look at how Brighton Community Church seeks to apply this truth in practical ways.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Any Given Sunday Any given Sunday, any given situation, is a God-given opportunity to give an invitation. Our weekly Sunday Services is the front door of the church. It is also a platform for us to reverse any wrong ideas and communicate life changing biblical truths to unbelievers. Come and discover why we need to remain focus in making Any Given Sunday a success.

1. How confident are you to invite your friends to our week Sunday Services? You can discuss this in relation to atmosphere, lobby engagements, welcome and hospitality etc and share ways we can strengthen Any Given Sunday.

2. Share one area that you have been challenged and grown because of the sermon series. How do you think you can leverage on the sermon series to engage your unbeliever and unchurched friends?

3. How can the CG work together to invite more friends and strengthen our hospitality to our visitors? Share two names whom we can reach out to.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

You have Two Families When we become a believer, the bible teaches us that we are not only saved from sin, but we are also saved into a family. God calls us not just to believe but to belong.

1. Discuss with your CG, your thoughts and perspectives about the church of God and how they compare or contrast with what was shared in the sermon.

2. Share with your CG your experiences of having both an earthly family and a spiritual family after becoming a Christian. Has your journey been marked by conflict, or has it been complementary or compensatory?"

3. If your earthly family members are not yet believers, share, pray and commit together as a CG how you can support each other and be a means to helping them draw nearer to God.

Jesus Christ gave up His heavenly glory, and at the Last Supper, He demonstrated what it means to serve others by washing His disciples’ feet. At Brighton Community Church, we desire for every disciple to serve one another as we follow Christ together. As part of our "How We Do Church" series, we will today draw lessons from the life of the Apostle Paul and explore how we can embrace and experience joyful service in our journey of faith.

1. Share an instance of you serving someone important to you and the joy you experienced. Share how you think this joy can be manifested in serving Christ – the most important being.

2. Share how you have experienced friendship/affection/care from serving one another in Brighton. You may also add how you want to partner one another further to achieve what you cannot do alone

3. Encourage one another: Each sharer to identify 1–3 members in the CG who is actively serving and list down how you have seen spiritual growth in the person(s) serving – some ideas (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, responsibility, gentleness, self-control). Those who have not started serving, start!

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Why do some believers keep growing while others stay stagnant, even after years of church involvement? What actually helps someone mature in their faith? In this message, we take a clear look at the kind of mindset and commitment that real growth requires and explain why Brighton Community Church structures our equipping the way we do.

1. Looking back over the past year, how have you been transformed to become more Christ-like? If not, what might be holding you back, even though you have been regularly hearing sermons and attending church?

2. Why do you think some Christians stop growing in their understanding of the Bible, even after years in church? What is holding you back from joining an equipping class and studying the Bible more deeply?

3. Why do we have mentoring groups in addition to cell groups? In your cell group, how can you form effective mentoring groups?
